Family of current credit union members are also eligible to join. A deposit of $5.00 in a savings account is the only other requirement. Once you are a member, you have access to all of the many services Friends and Family offers.

At Friends and Family, our members are actually the owners of the credit union. At a bank, profits are paid to stockholders. At a credit union, all earnings are returned to our members in the form of higher interest on savings, lower interest rates on loans, lower service fees, and new services. Members also elect a volunteer Board of Directors that sets the policies for the credit union.

Compliance with the USA Patriot Act

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an Account. Identity verification also helps to protect you and us from identity fraud. When you open an Account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
